Our History:
•In 1975, a group of progressive-minded individuals came up with the idea to attract more students to Northland Community College by building on-campus housing and award student scholarships. The original group was made up of approximately 18 people who gave $1,000 each. A plaque in our NCTC Foundation display case currently honors those Charter members.
•In 2003 Northland Community and Technical College merged with Northwest Technical Institute in East Grand Forks. The NCTC Foundation expanded it mission to include the East Grand Forks campus in 2005.
•Today, over 400 contributors give at all different levels. These people share the same inspiring ideas of those Charter members.
•In 2010, over 250 scholarships were awarded with a value of over $160,000. The Foundation has awarded over $500,000 in scholarships and college grants within the last five years.
•Financial Integrity:
•The NCTC Foundation values financial integrity and responsibility. We understand that the donations, endowments, wills and trusts are given to make a significant impact in the lives of our students and college. We take this responsibility to heart. You will see by the chart below that use the money effectively and efficiently.
The mission of the Northland Community & Technical College Foundation is to support the college by providing opportunities for contributors to invest in and enhance the educational experience of Northland’s students.
