Scholarship Application Instructions

 
 
  1. 1.Read the general award criteria and eligibility information below.

  2. 2.Select the scholarship application for your campus (TRF or EGF)*

  3. 3.Complete the online application in its entirety. You will not be able to submit the application unless you complete all required fields.

  4. 4.A copy of your completed application will be emailed to you.

  5. 5.All application material must be received by December 1, 2013, and the following information must be submitted to be considered:

  7. 2.High School transcripts, standardized test scores, GPA, and class rank must be submitted to Northland Community & Technical College’s admissions department before December 1, 2013.


* Distance Education and Satellite Campus Students should check with the Registrar or an Advisor to determine the campus you are registered under.

 

Scholarship Application Instructions

  1. 1.Students enrolled in the Post Secondary Enrollment Options (PSEO) program for the 2013-2014 academic year are NOT eligible. 

  2. 2.To be considered a full-time student, you must carry 12 or more credits from Northland’s Thief River Falls or East Grand Forks campuses. Credits from other institutions will not be considered.

  3. 3.Scholarships are not transferable to any other campus or institution.

  4. 4.All scholarships, including scholarships awarded by organizations other than NCTC Foundation, must be considered in a student’s financial aid package. Scholarship funds will not reduce PELL or MN State Grant eligibility, but may reduce other types of funding, such as loans or work programs.

  5. 5.Selection is made by evaluation of many different criteria, and may include commitment to field of study, service to others (extracurricular activities, work experience, etc.), academic achievement, and application effort.

  6. 6.Incomplete applications WILL NOT be considered. You WILL NOT receive notification if your application is received incomplete.

  7. 7.All COMPLETED APPLICATIONS will receive appropriate award notification, emailed by January 17, 2014 from the NCTC Foundation Office.

  8. 8.All recipients must be enrolled for the 2014 spring semester to receive their scholarship.

  9. 9.Any changes to your enrollment status may affect your eligibility and may result in a previously awarded scholarship being rescinded.

  10. 10.All recipients will be honored at the spring scholarship ceremony. Email and mail correspondence of ceremony logistics will be sent to scholarship recipients. It is expected that scholarship recipients attend the ceremony.

  11. 11.Decisions of the NCTC Foundation Scholarship Committee are final.

  12. 12.Scholarship availability and award amounts are subject to change based upon contributions and funds available.

  13. 13.NCTC Foundation spring scholarships are paid through Northland’s business office. Any outstanding debt to Northland will be deducted from the scholarship award and listed on a proper statement. Any remaining amount will be issued to you in the form of a check or direct deposit, if applicable, from Northland’s business office when fall financial aid is disbursed.
